Killing The Prince *UNEDITED*

I’m going to kill the prince. The blade cooled my skin as it sat against my thigh. I was sure to strap it just above the slit on the inside of my dress. Easy to get to, but not easy to be seen.  For months, I've watched his every move. His morning routine, his favorite meal, how long it takes him to read a page in the newspaper-10 minutes. I knew his whole life. The best part is that he never saw me.  My last stalk brought me to his annual charity ball-the only royal event that peasants were welcome. The palace throws one every year to raise money to build houses for the poor villagers. Not one person has seen that money in the past two years that the prince has been on the throne. More people are living in cardboard boxes than shelters because of overflow. I’m doing everyone a favor by carrying out this mission. I glanced over the crowd of partygoers from the balcony. The chestnut locs on top of the prince’s head were easy to spot. He was smiling. Surrounded by his m...

BOOK REVIEW: THE OBSESSION

Image
The Obession by Jesse Q Sutanto: BOOK REVIEW *POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD!!!* Description: “Logan thinks he and Delilah are meant to be. So, he does everything he can to learn about her. Delilah thinks it’s downright creepy. Plus, she’s got deadly secrets that she’d rather stay hidden.” Favorite Quote: “He’d pretended to put her back together, but his glue turned out to be poison too.” My thoughts: There were so many creepy vibes coming from Logan the second I opened the book. Of course, I wasn’t surprised. Logan was pretty delusional about his relationship with Delilah. He honestly thought that she had, or would have, feelings for him. The sad moments I felt were for Delilah and her mom. I hated the mom’s boyfriend, Brandon. He was such a jerk, bruh. Anyways…  Ratings: Thrill- ⅖ Emotion: ⅗ Overall: ⅘ I gave this a different rating on my bookstagram,  buuuutttt after re-thinking it, the book was still good just not five stars. Doesn’t mean it was horrible I just feel like ...

GOOD GRIEF

The sun peeked through the black curtains in my room, signaling another chance to meet new people. I wasn't in the mood to make friends, though. I've got all I need right in my bed. Rolling over and attempting to forget about the world seemed very tempting. I did just that, and, man, it felt so calming. For a moment the reminder that my family was hosting yet another funeral was in the back of my mind. Then it hit me. Fresh tears began to stream down my face, erasing evidence of the old ones. My chest began to tighten, and the familiar feeling of grief took over my entire body. A sore throat stopped any sound from coming from my mouth. All I could do was cry silently and pray that God, himself, heard me.  The new morning process had become repetitive at this point: open eyes, cry, ask questions, cry again, hide from the world.  I should fully understand what's happening by now. It should've hit me that there was another death in the family, but that's not what I...

AUTHOR/BLOGGER NEWBIE TAG

Image
Author/Blogger Newbie Tag I’m fairly new to the authortube/blogger community, and have had trouble finding a way to fully break in. Earlier this month I did a #preptober “Outline with Me” livestream over on my YouTube channel. You can check it out here .  These are some questions that I came up with on my own. I made this tag up from the top of my head. I sincerely apologize if this tag ends up being similar to one created by someone else. It is purely coincidental.  Without further ado, let’s get into it!! Why did you start an authortube/blog? I wanted to meet people with similar interests to mine. I’m an introvert and I thought joining this community alongside doing NaNoWriMo would be perfect. Give us info about your current WIP. My current project is titled: I Am Royalty. It is a YA Fiction Novella about a 17 year old girl that finds out the king of the country she resides in is actually her father. So, she goes to live with him at the palace. Of course, she has trou...

Reasons Why You Might Have Writer's Block

My writer’s block lasted about 3 months. Yes, you read that right. It was March. I was feeling good about my newest project, and I had planned out so well. However, April came and I lost all interest in writing that book. Of course, I was bummed out because I thought the story was a good one.  The book was about a family curse of adultery brought on by a witch that doubled as a siren(you can see the book cover for it on my Pinterest). I still have the story on my laptop, but it won’t be seeing the light of day. Sorry, not sorry. You would think that it’d be easier to write now that we have all this time, but the writing process has become even harder.  I’m going to suggest to you four different reasons why you might have writer’s block. The only way to fix a problem is to find the root of it. Let’s get into it! You did not plan enough. Are you a planner, pantser, or plantser? That is what you need to figure out before diving into the writing process. The brainstorming s...

TIPS FOR COLLEGE FRESHMEN

Tips for incoming college freshmen. I honestly wish I would have taken those college blogs I read the summer before my first year in college more seriously. My brain kept telling me that I would be fine, and that college was just like high school. I thought that I could get away with barely making it-THAT IS NOT THE CASE! College and high school are way different. Here are a few tips that I have taken from my personal experience in my first year in college.  Happy Reading :) Do Not Put Off Work Until The Last Minute Take it from me, hun, it is not a good feeling when you have to miss a deadline because you thought it was a good idea to wait until the night an assignment is due to do it.  My first year was a complete mess! Harder than it should have been because I was lazy and felt like I could finish three assignments all on the day that they were due. I refused to focus and put things off as a result.  Trust me, sis, you'll feel so much better if you just get that ...
